First off some of you may be asking what exactly is microneedling?... Well, microneedling is a form of Collagen Induction Therapy. Collagen Induction Therapy creates a controlled injury using very fine needles to create microscopic channels deep in the dermis of the skin. This causes the body to respond through the formation of new tissue layers of elastin and collagen fibers as well as new capillaries for blood supply.
For some when they hear "needles" or "injury" the first thought that runs in there head is what am I going to look like after? and how many days down time?.Unlike your traditional resurfacing treatments such as lasers. The down time for microneedling is very minimal with only 3 days. The first day is the worst of course and that's to be expected. Right after treatment you may have pin point bleeding and extremely red as if you've been burnt. On the second day the redness has already started to subside and you are left with a slight pinkish hue. If absolutely necessary you are allowed to apply mineral makeup on the second day. By the 3rd day it looks as though nothing has been done and you can continue with your normal regime. You will begin to see improvement in your skins tone, texture and tightening within 2 to 3 weeks after each treatment (with best results typically 3 to 6 treatments recommended).
